UX Designer - content design (remote)

Highbridge West Arts Center is looking for a UX Designer. The job centres on content design for volunteer programmes, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Design for tasks around volunteer programmes that people do under time pressure. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. What we are looking for • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Care for plain language and accessibility. Nice to have • Background in volunteer programmes. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Sacramento. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
