UX Designer - content design (remote)

Redstone Lakeside Transit Planning plans bus and rail service for cities around Chicago, and we need a UX Designer to lead our content design. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Design for tasks around ridership counts that people do under time pressure. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. What we are looking for • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. Nice to have • Background in ridership counts. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Chicago. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
