UX Designer - content design (remote)

Lumen Kestrel Press prints books, catalogues and packaging from its Des Moines plant, and we need a UX Designer to lead our content design. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Design for tasks around press runs that people do under time pressure. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. What we are looking for • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. Nice to have • Experience running usability tests. • Background in press runs. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Des Moines. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
