UX Designer - content design (Oakland, CA)

Harborlight Pine Press produces print and digital publications in Oakland, and we need a UX Designer to lead our content design. Many of us have been here for ten years or more. What you will do • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Design for tasks around bindery work that people do under time pressure. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. What we are looking for • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. Nice to have • Background in bindery work. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Oakland, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
