UX Designer - content design (Detroit, MI)

Harborlight Pike Learning Group is an education provider in Detroit serving students and families, and we need a UX Designer to lead our content design. You would join a small organisation of about 194 people based in Detroit. What you will do • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Design for tasks around attendance records that people do under time pressure. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. What we are looking for • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Care for plain language and accessibility. Nice to have • Background in attendance records. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Detroit. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
