UX Designer - content design (Detroit, MI)

Lumen Wilder Learning Group operates schools and learning programmes around Detroit, and we need a UX Designer to lead our content design. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Design for tasks around student accounts that people do under time pressure. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. What we are looking for • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • Care for plain language and accessibility. Nice to have • Background in student accounts. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Detroit. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
