UX Designer - content design (Des Moines, IA)

Lumen Transit Planning Group is looking for a UX Designer. The job centres on content design for ridership counts, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We value plain explanations. What you will do • Design for tasks around ridership counts that people do under time pressure. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. What we are looking for • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. Nice to have • Background in ridership counts. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Des Moines. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
