UX Designer - content design (Chicago, IL)

We are growing our team at Harborlight Iron Press and adding a UX Designer whose main responsibility will be content design. Many of us have been here for ten years or more. What you will do • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Design for tasks around customer orders that people do under time pressure. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. What we are looking for • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. Nice to have • Experience running usability tests. • Background in customer orders. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Chicago. • We reply to every applicant.
