UX Designer - content design (Chicago, IL)

We are growing our team at Amberfield Sable Community Partners and adding a UX Designer whose main responsibility will be content design. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Chicago. What you will do • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Design for tasks around grant reporting that people do under time pressure. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. What we are looking for • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • Care for plain language and accessibility. Nice to have • Background in grant reporting. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Chicago. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
