UX Designer - content design (Chicago, IL)

Northwind Quarry Arts Center runs a venue and education programmes in Chicago. We are hiring a UX Designer to take on content design. We run on creativity, deadlines and a lot of goodwill. What you will do • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Design for tasks around exhibitions that people do under time pressure. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. What we are looking for • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. Nice to have • Experience running usability tests. • Background in exhibitions. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Chicago. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
