UX Designer - accessibility review (San Diego, CA)

We are growing our team at Northwind Stone Arts Center and adding a UX Designer whose main responsibility will be accessibility review. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in San Diego. What you will do • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Design for tasks around school partnerships that people do under time pressure. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. What we are looking for • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. Nice to have • Experience running usability tests. • Background in school partnerships. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in San Diego, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
