UX Designer - accessibility review (San Diego, CA)

Harborlight Haven Financial is looking for a UX Designer. The job centres on accessibility review for loan applications, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 26 people based in San Diego. What you will do • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Design for tasks around loan applications that people do under time pressure. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. What we are looking for • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. Nice to have • Background in loan applications. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in San Diego. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
