UX Designer - accessibility review (San Diego, CA)

Harborlight Birch Transit Planning helps transport agencies around San Diego design routes and schedules. We are hiring a UX Designer to take on accessibility review. You would join a small organisation of about 29 people based in San Diego. What you will do • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Design for tasks around route schedules that people do under time pressure. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. What we are looking for • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Care for plain language and accessibility. Nice to have • Experience running usability tests. • Background in route schedules. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in San Diego, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
