UX Designer - accessibility review (Richmond, VA)

Ironwood Pike Early Learning · Richmond, VA · part time

Ironwood Pike Early Learning operates neighbourhood childcare around Richmond. We are hiring a UX Designer to take on accessibility review. Children come first and so does looking after the teachers. What you will do • Design for tasks around tuition and subsidies that people do under time pressure. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. What we are looking for • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. Nice to have • Experience running usability tests. • Background in tuition and subsidies. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Richmond. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
