UX Designer - accessibility review (Richmond, VA)

Cedar Forge Arts Center · Richmond, VA · part time

Cedar Forge Arts Center is looking for a UX Designer. The job centres on accessibility review for volunteer programmes, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Richmond. What you will do • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Design for tasks around volunteer programmes that people do under time pressure. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. What we are looking for • Care for plain language and accessibility. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. Nice to have • Experience running usability tests. • Background in volunteer programmes. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Richmond, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
