UX Designer - accessibility review (remote)

Fernwood River Press · Remote · contract

Fernwood River Press is looking for a UX Designer. The job centres on accessibility review for press runs, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 19 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. What we are looking for • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. Nice to have • Background in press runs. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Sacramento. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
