UX Designer - accessibility review (remote)

Harborlight Ember Press · Remote · full time

Harborlight Ember Press prints books, catalogues and packaging from its Virginia Beach plant. We are hiring a UX Designer to take on accessibility review. Many of us have been here for ten years or more. What you will do • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Design for tasks around paper stock that people do under time pressure. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. What we are looking for • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. Nice to have • Background in paper stock. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Virginia Beach. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
