UX Designer - accessibility review (Oakland, CA)

Rivermark Rook Press produces print and digital publications in Oakland, and we need a UX Designer to lead our accessibility review. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Oakland. What you will do • Design for tasks around bindery work that people do under time pressure. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. What we are looking for • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. Nice to have • Background in bindery work. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Oakland, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
