UX Designer - accessibility review (Oakland, CA)

Fernwood Ember Markets is looking for a UX Designer. The job centres on accessibility review for store inventory, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We like people who know our customers by name. What you will do • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Design for tasks around store inventory that people do under time pressure. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. What we are looking for • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. Nice to have • Background in store inventory. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Oakland. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
