UX Designer - accessibility review (Detroit, MI)

Cedar Amber Insurance Group sells home, auto and small-business insurance in Detroit. We are hiring a UX Designer to take on accessibility review. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Design for tasks around claims that people do under time pressure. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. What we are looking for • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Care for plain language and accessibility. Nice to have • Experience running usability tests. • Background in claims. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Detroit. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
