UX Designer - accessibility review (Detroit, MI)

Westbrook Sparrow Transit Planning helps transport agencies around Detroit design routes and schedules, and we need a UX Designer to lead our accessibility review. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Design for tasks around accessibility audits that people do under time pressure. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. What we are looking for • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. Nice to have • Background in accessibility audits. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Detroit. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
