UX Designer - accessibility review (Detroit, MI)

Cedar Junction Insurance sells home, auto and small-business insurance in Detroit, and we need a UX Designer to lead our accessibility review. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Design for tasks around policy renewals that people do under time pressure. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. What we are looking for • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • Care for plain language and accessibility. Nice to have • Experience running usability tests. • Background in policy renewals. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Detroit, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
