UX Designer - accessibility review (Des Moines, IA)

Fernwood Cobalt Community Partners is a Des Moines charity working with residents on basic needs and opportunity. We are hiring a UX Designer to take on accessibility review. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Des Moines. What you will do • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Design for tasks around food distribution that people do under time pressure. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. What we are looking for • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. Nice to have • Experience running usability tests. • Background in food distribution.
