UX Designer - accessibility review (Des Moines, IA)

Westbrook Wren Arts Center is an arts centre in Des Moines with a full calendar of events. We are hiring a UX Designer to take on accessibility review. Evenings and weekends are part of the job. What you will do • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Design for tasks around ticketing that people do under time pressure. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. What we are looking for • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. Nice to have • Experience running usability tests. • Background in ticketing. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Des Moines, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
