UX Designer - accessibility review (Charleston, SC)

Bluepeak Vista Community Partners is a nonprofit in Charleston supporting families with food, housing and job help, and we need a UX Designer to lead our accessibility review. Flexibility and kindness are expected. What you will do • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Design for tasks around client intake that people do under time pressure. What we are looking for • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • Care for plain language and accessibility. Nice to have • Experience running usability tests. • Background in client intake. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Charleston. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
