UX Designer - accessibility review (Birmingham, AL)

Cedar Maple Community Partners is a Birmingham charity working with residents on basic needs and opportunity, and we need a UX Designer to lead our accessibility review. Flexibility and kindness are expected. What you will do • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Design for tasks around benefits enrolment that people do under time pressure. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. What we are looking for • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. Nice to have • Background in benefits enrolment. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Birmingham. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
