UX Designer - accessibility review (Birmingham, AL)

Silverline Beacon Press is a printer and publisher in Birmingham serving local and national clients, and we need a UX Designer to lead our accessibility review. You would join a small organisation of about 18 people based in Birmingham. What you will do • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Design for tasks around press runs that people do under time pressure. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. What we are looking for • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. Nice to have • Experience running usability tests. • Background in press runs. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Birmingham. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
