Software Engineer - web applications (Virginia Beach, VA)

We are growing our team at Harborlight Kestrel Insurance and adding a Software Engineer whose main responsibility will be web applications. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Turn requests about underwriting files into simple, maintainable software. What we are looking for • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. Nice to have • Experience with underwriting files. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Virginia Beach. • We reply to every applicant.
