Software Engineer - web applications (St. Louis, MO)

We are growing our team at Westbrook Loom Insurance and adding a Software Engineer whose main responsibility will be web applications. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Turn requests about premium billing into simple, maintainable software. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with premium billing. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in St. Louis. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
