Software Engineer - web applications (St. Louis, MO)

Harborlight Beacon Early Learning is looking for a Software Engineer. The job centres on web applications for family communication, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We celebrate small wins and steady routines. What you will do • Turn requests about family communication into simple, maintainable software. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. What we are looking for • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. Nice to have • Experience with family communication. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in St. Louis. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
