Software Engineer - web applications (San Jose, CA)

We are growing our team at Fernwood Fox Community Partners and adding a Software Engineer whose main responsibility will be web applications. We are small enough to know everyone's name. What you will do • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Turn requests about volunteer shifts into simple, maintainable software. What we are looking for • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with volunteer shifts. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in San Jose. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
