Software Engineer - web applications (remote)

Nova Sable Insurance is looking for a Software Engineer. The job centres on web applications for catastrophe response, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We care about how people feel on the worst day of their year. What you will do • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. What we are looking for • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Experience with catastrophe response. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Sacramento. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
