Software Engineer - web applications (remote)

We are growing our team at Westbrook Kestrel Community Partners and adding a Software Engineer whose main responsibility will be web applications. Mission matters here, and so does looking after staff. What you will do • Turn requests about benefits enrolment into simple, maintainable software. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with benefits enrolment. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in St. Louis. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
