Software Engineer - web applications (remote)

Highbridge Summit Community Partners is a nonprofit in Spokane supporting families with food, housing and job help. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on web applications. Mission matters here, and so does looking after staff. What you will do • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Turn requests about food distribution into simple, maintainable software. What we are looking for • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Experience with food distribution. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Spokane. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
