Software Engineer - web applications (remote)

Fernwood Clear Energy supplies electricity and gas to homes and businesses around Providence. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on web applications. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Turn requests about billing disputes into simple, maintainable software. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with billing disputes. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Providence. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
