Software Engineer - web applications (remote)

Clearpath Wilder Insurance is an insurance company in Richmond with claims and service teams. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on web applications. You would join a large organisation of about 703 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Turn requests about underwriting files into simple, maintainable software. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with underwriting files. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Richmond. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
