Software Engineer - web applications (remote)

Summit West Transit Planning is a transit-planning firm in Anchorage working with agencies and riders, and we need a Software Engineer to lead our web applications. You would join a small organisation of about 20 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Turn requests about service alerts into simple, maintainable software. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. What we are looking for • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with service alerts. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Anchorage. • We reply to every applicant.
