Software Engineer - web applications (remote)

We are growing our team at Fernwood Umber Inspection Services and adding a Software Engineer whose main responsibility will be web applications. You would join a large organisation of about 967 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Turn requests about client sites into simple, maintainable software. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with client sites. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Virginia Beach. • We reply to every applicant.
