Software Engineer - web applications (remote)

Amberfield Basin Facilities looks after properties across the Birmingham region, and we need a Software Engineer to lead our web applications. Clear communication between supervisors and crews matters. What you will do • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Turn requests about customer sites into simple, maintainable software. What we are looking for • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. Nice to have • Experience with customer sites. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Birmingham. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
