Software Engineer - web applications (remote)

Fernwood Health runs classrooms and tutoring across the Salt Lake City area. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on web applications. You would join a small organisation of about 25 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Turn requests about student accounts into simple, maintainable software. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. What we are looking for • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with student accounts. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Salt Lake City. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
