Software Engineer - web applications (remote)

Harborlight Fox Insurance Group is looking for a Software Engineer. The job centres on web applications for claims, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Turn requests about claims into simple, maintainable software. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. What we are looking for • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with claims. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Cincinnati. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
