Software Engineer - web applications (remote)

Fernwood Orchard Telecom provides broadband and phone service around Pittsburgh. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on web applications. You would join a small organisation of about 41 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Turn requests about customer tickets into simple, maintainable software. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with customer tickets. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Pittsburgh. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
