Software Engineer - web applications (remote)

Lumen Granite Water Authority is looking for a Software Engineer. The job centres on web applications for treatment plant data, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Turn requests about treatment plant data into simple, maintainable software. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. What we are looking for • Two or more years of professional software development. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with treatment plant data. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, spread across three days. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Philadelphia. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
