Software Engineer - web applications (remote)

Harborlight Nest Community Partners is looking for a Software Engineer. The job centres on web applications for volunteer shifts, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Turn requests about volunteer shifts into simple, maintainable software. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. What we are looking for • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. Nice to have • Experience with volunteer shifts. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Honolulu. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
