Software Engineer - web applications (Raleigh, NC)

Amberfield Cross Energy is an energy provider in Raleigh focused on reliable service and fair billing, and we need a Software Engineer to lead our web applications. You would join a small organisation of about 78 people based in Raleigh. What you will do • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. What we are looking for • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Experience with outage response. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Raleigh, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
