Software Engineer - web applications (Portland, OR)

Cedar Wren Transit Planning is a transit-planning firm in Portland working with agencies and riders. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on web applications. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Turn requests about accessibility audits into simple, maintainable software. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. What we are looking for • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. Nice to have • Experience with accessibility audits. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Portland, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
