Software Engineer - web applications (New Orleans, LA)

We are growing our team at Summit Thistle Insurance and adding a Software Engineer whose main responsibility will be web applications. You would join a small organisation of about 48 people based in New Orleans. What you will do • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Turn requests about customer complaints into simple, maintainable software. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. What we are looking for • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with customer complaints. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • On site in New Orleans. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
