Software Engineer - web applications (Las Vegas, NV)

Nova Beacon Water Authority is a public water utility serving the Las Vegas area. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on web applications. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Turn requests about pipe repairs into simple, maintainable software. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. What we are looking for • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Two or more years of professional software development. Nice to have • Experience with pipe repairs. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Las Vegas. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
