Software Engineer - web applications (Knoxville, TN)

Cedar Yarrow Transit Planning is looking for a Software Engineer. The job centres on web applications for route schedules, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 26 people based in Knoxville. What you will do • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Turn requests about route schedules into simple, maintainable software. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. What we are looking for • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with route schedules. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Knoxville, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
