Software Engineer - web applications (Houston, TX)

Lumen Loom Insurance Group is an insurance company in Houston with claims and service teams. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on web applications. Claims teams work together and share what they learn. What you will do • Turn requests about underwriting files into simple, maintainable software. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. What we are looking for • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Experience with underwriting files. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Houston. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
